- Power on the scale at least an hour before its first use every day.
- Do not shut it for the whole day once it is on power on mode.
- Check equilibrium of the scale and then tare to 0.000
- Use clean butter-paper or a glass tray for weighing the material sample.
- For liquid sample, use flask to weigh it.
- Keep cell phones at least 1 meter far from scale.
- After using it, tare to 0.000 mode.
What is Tare Weight?
To tare a scale means to zero out the weight of whatever was already on the scale, such as a bowl, plate, or container.
What is Gross Weight?
The Gross weight is the total amount of weight that has been added to the scale since calibration.
Scale calibration establishes the Gross zero reference point.
What is Net Weight?
The Net weight is the amount of weight added to the scale since the last "TARE" command was done.
Types of Laboratory Balances Weighing Scale:
Compact Balances
Compact balances correspond to professional weighing balances that are compact in size. Their compact feature makes them portable and easy to move around. These balances are equally precise and accurate. Modern compact digital weighing balances are equipped with stainless steel weighing pan which enables easy cleaning of the scale.
Analytical Balances
Analytical balances are able to measure mass in sub-milligram range. Analytical balances producer very accurate and precise results, but are also very susceptible to the environment they are kept in.
Precision Balances
As the name suggests these balances are known for their precise output. Additionally, precision balances can produce steady output in most diverse environmental conditions.
